August Favourites

Hello again:)

It is that time of the month again when I tell you about what I have been loving this past month, so lets get cracking!

MUSIC FAVOURITES

#1 - RUDE! by Magic

Okay so through August this is one of the songs I have had on repeat (I also was loving it in July), I just love the beat and lyrics. I am pretty sure most of you would have heard it but here's a link for Rude if you haven't heard it yet or if you love just as much as I and want to listen to it again.

#2 TRXYE EP - Troye Sivan

If, you have not heard any of the songs from the EP you are missing out because every time I am in the car, walking, in the shower, making breakfast, in bed, basically anywhere I am listening to this EP because it is so fantastic. Troye Sivan, if you didn't already know, is a successful Australian YouTuber who used to do a bit of acting.  My favourite is probably Gasoline.

#3 ROLLUPHILLS

RollUpHills is a guy, called Matt, on Youtube doing covers with his guitar (he has done some originals as well).  I have been subscribed to him since early June when I finished my exams and got watching old 5 seconds of summer's covers and stumbled across Matt and it's safe to say I am addicted to him and listened to all the videos he has uploaded and listen to him probably once a day. I have no idea why I haven't mentioned him before because he is amazing. So please go an check him out - RollUpHills

MOVIE FAVOURITES

#1 The Inbetweeners Movie 2

If you have watched the Inbetweeners movie 1 or any of the episodes or just want a laugh then you will love this film.  There are many hilarious situations the 4 boys have been put in. I went to see it twice in the cinema already and I will be getting it on DVD when it comes out.

#2 What If

I went to see this movie with a friend a couple of days after it came out, so I didn't know what to except.  But I did know that Daniel Radcliffe was in it and we both love him as an actor so we knew we would probably love the movie.  And of course Daniel Radcliffe didn't disappoint us when he played Wallace.  Wallace is a guy who dropped out of medical school and was dragged to a party by his room mate, Allan,  who just so happened to be cousins of a beautiful girl called Chantry.  However Chantry has a long term relationship with her boyfriend so Wallace and Chantry agree on being friends.  The story follows Wallace being friend-zoned with many cringe situations and funny moments.

BEAUTY FAVOURITES

#1 Bourjois Nail Polish

I found these mail polishes through a YouTuber called velvetgh0st whoes really name is Gabby. But after she raved about them and seeing them on offer I decided to pick up a few for myself. These nail polishes stay on your nails with a gloss shine.

Bourjois Paris So Laque Glossy Nail Polish - 15 Peace and Mauve

Bourjois Paris Ultra Shine So Laque Nail Polish - 37 Bleu Asphalte

Bourjois Paris Ultra Shine So Laque Nail Polish - 30 Noir de Chine

After 4 days of wearing the colour 30 bleu asphalte

#2 - Maybelline Great Lashes Mascara

Okay, I have to admit I am late onto the bandwagon with this but it just didn't make it's way to the till with me yet until the other week.  Because of its cheap price of £4.99 I didn't think it would be as good everyone made out it to be but my gosh was I wrong. The applicator is small compared to other mascara's out in the market so if you like small applicators then you'll definitely love this product.  But the main thing you want from your mascara is the have long lush, not clumped, eye lashes and that is exactly what it does.

CLOTHING FAVOURITES

#1  - TopShop Hoodie

I went shopping with my mum for smart sixth form outfits and when I was in TopShop I decided to grab myself the grey hoodie I have been eyeing up for a while now.  The inside lining is so so soft and cuddley, brilliant for autumn/winter weather (which it tends to be in the UK). It was £22, which isn't too bad and I absolutely love it.

OTHER FAVOURITES

#1 - The Vampire Diaries

Okay, so Tanya Burr one of my favourite YouTubers has mentioned The Vampire Diaries so many times so in one of Jim's Vlogs in early August she told us about it again and being on holiday and just being caught up with Pretty Little Liars and just getting Netflix; I decided to check it out. Okay so maybe I am already n the penultimate series and tweeted Tanya several times about it (which she actually responded to once!) I can now say I am addicted.

#2 - My New Purse

I got my new purse when I was on holiday in France in late July.  It's just a large purse with one zip with loads of card pockets, a pocket for reciets, notes and a zipped pocket for coins.  The main reason why I love this purse so much was because of the black and white glossy front of the purse that's a college of magazine front covers.  It was also only 9,90 (euros) which is around £8 (ish) from a French supermarket called Carefour.

#3 - Rose Gold Watch

I've been wanting a new watch for a while now and I wanted one that is a bit more classy and more ascetically pleasing.  So I decided to go on a hunt for a rose gold watch. When I was in Tesco (yes Tesco) I happened to walk past the watch stand and saw the watch I wanted for just £14 so I had to buy it.  My mum had to take a few links out through the help of a man on youtube but other than that it is pretty much perfect.

Get To Know Me Tag

Hello:)

So I was tagged by my friend Izzy Knight so I suppose I should get cracking.

1. Are you named after anyone?

Nope. My parents like the name Georgina and decided to give it to me, no story, nothing.  But I have a story about my middle name.

So, all  my cousins on my mum side and my younger brother's middle name is a name from someone else in the family. So my brother's middle name is David, my Dad's name.  My cousin, Laura's middle name is Jane, my Mum's name (her Auntie's).  William's middle name is Robert, my Granddad's name and Patrick's middle name is Matthew his dad's name (my uncle). So you would except my middle name to follow the same pattern right? Nope. My parents decided to use the most common middle name of my school, Louise! Apparently it sounded nice, I mean I like the name but I would have liked to have not been left out of the middle name thing.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Okay, I'm not going to lie because this is the "Get To Know Me Tag".  The last time I cried was yesterday (25th August) when I watched 5 Seconds Of Summer perform at the VMA's. I have three reasons for this.
1 - I have been a fan for nearly 2 years, this was when many people knew about them and for them to perform at such a big convention, like the VMA's, is a massive achievement for them.
2 - They sung a very sad song
3 - I had a fangirl moment because of how proud I am and how insanely hot they looked, I mean look at these photos of them...

Obviously these are not my photos, I found the on tumblr.  But look at them perform, wow!

3. Do you have any kids?

Nope I do not.

4. If you were another person would you be friends with yourself?

Good question. Firstly, I would like to point out that I don't like talking to strangers. In fact, the friends I have now are because my other friends I have had since when I was younger and more confident introduced me to them, so I doubt I would even make a conversation without awkwardness crashing into both of us.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Nooooo, of course not (hence the sarcasm, if you didn't I use it everyday)

6.  Will you ever bunjee jump?

I doubt it.  Firstly I have heard too many stories of it going wrong. Secondly I don't like heights all that much. Also, I don't like deep water which a lot of bunjee jumps happen over, like off a high bridge that goes over some type of water (usually a river).

7. What's your favourite cereal?

Some of my favourites when I was younger was Golden Grahams, Frosties, Cocoa Pops and Cookie Crisp. To be honest, I mainly liked the toys in the cereal.  But if I wanted something healthier I would go for weetabix.

8.What's the first thing you notice on people?

I think it's different for different people. Sometimes I notice peoples eyes first, sometimes their clothes, others it might be their hair.  That's if you're just talking about people I haven't spoken to. If I have spoken to them, I would say their attitude and how they came across.

9. What is your eye colour?

Blue. Lots of people say they love blue eyes but because loads of people have blue eyes, the blue eye market it so competitive at the moment & my eyes aren't anything special, even though my friends and family do say they like them but I mean give me Niall Horan's, Luke Hemmings's or Perrie Edwards's blue eyes any day please.

Niall Horan's eyes
Luke Hemmings's eyes

Perrie Edwards's eyes

Again, obviously these are not my photos, I found them on tumblr.  But how amazingly blue are their eyes.

10. Scary movie or happy endings?

Right. I love a good happy ending but I love a good scare. I have watched a lot more happy ending then scary movies so I am going to go with happy endings.

11. Favourite smells?

I have a LOT of favourite smells.  I love the smell of blown out birthday candles, pizza (duh!), freshly baked bread and vanilla. But I probably prefer fruity scents, it can't be too fruity though.

12. Summer or Winter?

Most people will say Summer, but I have an unpopular opinion with this and I prefer Winter. I love snow, sweater weather, hot drinks, fires, candles, winter fashion, Christmas, bonfire night, winter colours, falling asleep to rain and also having the excuse of not going outside because it's too cold, raining or you can't get out of our road due to the snow.

13. Computer or television?

Computer, another reason why I am writing this blog. I watch more Youtube than TV programmes.

14. What's the furtherest you've been away from home?

Well I had to google maps this because I am not sure whether Iceland or Venice in Italy was but I found out that Iceland is just a bit further.

15. Do you have any special talents?

No. No I do not and please don't remind me. But, I can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards. I can also quote many lines from Friends, Mean Girls, Harry Potter, many musicals and Disney movies.

16. Where were you born?

Well this is an interesting story. I was born in a hospital.

17. What are your hobbies?

Fangirling, listening to music, netflixing, watching You Tubers, blogging, general interneting, shopping, sleeping and procrastinating.

18.  Do you have any pets?

I have 2 cats called Danny and Ruby (ohhh creative names) and my brother has a hamster called, I think, Wilson (another creative name) but this hamster has had many names including Stevie and Hammy.

19. Favourite movie?

NO. Sorry I can not answer this question. That's like choosing your favourite child. But I can narrow it down to about 12.  All the Harry Potter movies (counting as one not eight), Finding Nemo, Tangled, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mean Girls, Bridge to Teribethia, Peter Pan, Jungle Book, Hunger Games, Catching Fire, The Fault In Our Stars and Billy Elliot.

20.  Do you have siblings?

Yes, I have one younger brother.

21.  What do you want to be when you grow up?

I'm sorry but I thought I told people not to ever ask me this question because I HAVE NO FLIPPING IDEA! I used to want to become and actress, but clearly that was not the job for me. Then I went through that phase when you want to be a doctor and made my mum buy all these books that I never read and quickly came back to reality & now I don't really know what I want to do.

Thank you if you read all that.  If you got this fair and have a blog yourself I tag you to do the Get To Know Me tag. Again here's the link to my friend, Izzy who tagged me so go and check other blog -  http://izzyk1998.blogspot.co.uk/

Baby Elephants, Rollercoasters & Fun

Hello again:)

The other day I went out the the Safari Park with my mum and brother because we haven't been for about 8 years! Also, the safari park had just had a newborn elephant, which both my mum and I were eager to see. So I will post some photos of the animals we got to see on our day trip out.

RHINO! (we got closer than this^)

&here's the baby elephant with his/hers mother

The camel just came running up to our car!

Love Penguins

The giraffes were so beautiful

And we got to feed them:)

We were so close to the Leopards (this was with no zoom!)
I had to finish with the baby elephant and his/hers mother:)

After seeing the animals, we went into the small "theme park" to go on some of the rollercoasters. The rides were for mainly younger children but it was fun nonetheless as I got to go on rollercoasters I loved as a kid and I do still now!

Overall, the day was fantastic, the weather was great (except a half hour pour down and thunderstorm) and I fully recommend going to the closest safari park to you:)

Recipe || Gingerbread Biscuits

Hello:)

Last year, when myself and one of my friends had a practical to do in our Home Economics class my friend decided to make these really delicious gingerbread biscuits.  I loved them so much that she gave me the recipe. So I decided to make them to take round to my relatives house, so here it is:

INGREDIENTS

350g plain flour
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
4 teaspoons of ground ginger
175g light brown sugar
4 tablespoons of golden syrup
1 egg

EQUIPMENT

Large bowl
Wooden Spoon
Grease Proof Paper
Baking Tray(s)
Teaspoon
Tablespoon
Rolling Pin

Step 1
Turn your oven onto 190C/Gas 5 and place grease proof paper on the tray(s).

Step 2
Put the flour, bicarbonate of soda and ground ginger into a large mixing bowl and rub in the butter so it looks like breadcrumbs.

Step 3
Add the sugar, golden syrup and the egg. Keep mixing the mixture until it turns into a dough consistency , don't give up because it may not look like it's going to turn into a dough but it will.

Step 4
Cover your work surface in flour and start to roll the dough out till it's about 5mm thick.

Step 5
Cut out the dough in any shapes you want (I chose hearts). Place them onto the greased baking trays and place in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 6
Once they're cooked take them out of the oven and allow them to cool down, and then enjoy!
It made more than I excepted it would....

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT my own recipe but my friend gave it to me so I do not know where she found it but I did change some steps that I found worked better when I made them :)

This recipe did say it was meant to make 20 biscuits but I ended up with 50 (exactly)....

Hope you liked this post, thank you for reading and if you make them hope you enjoy them:)
