October Favourites

I cannot believe October is already over!  This year has just zoomed by.  October always seems to be the most busy month for pretty much everything for me, especially concerts, music and live shows.

Music

5 Seconds Of Summer

So 5SOS gets the award for the best album of the month.  I flipping love their new album, Sounds Good Feels Good.  I have been waiting for this for ages and it was so worth the wait.  I seriously cannot tell you one single favourite song because holy wow they are all amazing.  But some top songs of the album are Airplanes, Invisible, Carry On (at the end of Outer Space, which I also love) and Catch Fire.

One Direction
I love their new single, Perfect, and on the EP for it the new song sound called Home is also amazing!  I cannot wait for their album to come out in November.  I think, those who didn't like 1D before hand may start to like them from this album.  Not only that I got to see them in concert earlier this month!

Love Me // The 1975

Oh wow!  The 1975 dropped their new single Love Me at the start of this month and I have not stopped playing it.  I seems like all I have been doing this month is listen to music, which is pretty accurate to be honest!

Wake Up // The Vamps

Another brilliant song from The Vamps.  This is such a 'get ya moving song', I just have to dance when I hear it, yes even in public!

Beauty

Lip Moisturiser

I find, especially in Autumn and Winter, that my lips need some caring.  Mum recommended the Blistex Intensive Lip Moisturiser, and I love it.  I use it every morning before I apply my lipstick and whenever my lips are a little too dry (and I don't have lipstick on or I can reapply it!)

Fashion

Batwing Roll Neck Jumper

This jumper, which I got from New Look earlier this month, is seriously super comfy.  I think it's the fact that it's a batwing style so it's more baggy around your biceps/upper arms and tummy  It is so easy to style, I tend to wear it with my next fashion favourite.

Black Ripped Skinnies
I have a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans, but they are fairly thin and I'm not that comfortable wearing them at the moment, so when Mum and I went on a shopping spree, I saw some ripped black skinny jeans, that weren't high waisted in New Look (again!).  These are slightly too long on my legs and a little to big around the waist but they are still really comfy and I wear them whenever I can!

Knitted Khaki Jumper

Another item from New Look!  My favourite shop this month I suppose!  This is a chunky knit jumper which is a deep khaki colour, which for me, is a winter/autumn colour, which also goes with the black ripped jeans.  You can dress it up, with chunky heeled boots and a dainty necklace, or dress it down with leggings and trainers.

Movies

Jumpers For Goalposts // Ed Sheeran Concert Movie

Izzy and I couldn't believe it when Ed announced he was doing a movie for his shows at Wembley because we didn't get tickets for them.  So of course, we booked the tickets and went into town to watch it on its premiere night.  This meant we watched an hour live viewing of the premiere and the 2 hour movie.  It was amazing and just blew me away how just one person could fill Wembley not just for one night but for three nights.

TV shows

Dance Academy
Yes, I have already watched this series on Netflix before, at the start of the year.  And yes, it was in my favourites then.  But I just put it on as a background sound when I was doing some sixth form homework and note catch up and I soon found myself staying up late, once again, to watch about 15 episodes before I go to sleep.  I know I am 17, and this show is probably aimed more towards the 12-14 year olds but who doesn't love a bit of Australian cheesy drama about Ballet and friends?

The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire

Well, lets just say I am still not over how amazing this live show Dan and Phil put on was!  I laughed so much and I couldn't stop smiling.  If you are luckily enough to be going to a date in November, be prepared to be blown away!

So that is what I have been loving this month!  I cannot believe it is Halloween and that tomorrow is November, where has the year gone?  I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween and a brilliant weekend.

The Amazing Tour is Not on Fire, Cat Whiskers and a Signed Book

So, I got to see the Dan and Phil Live Show.  Yes, I cannot believe it either!  Back in April, Izzy got myself, her and our friend (Nat) tickets for Dan and Phil's live show and yesterday was the day.  We went to a matinee one because the evening show was sold out, but it was obviously still amazing!

We have been looking forward to this for ages!

Dan is most well known as danisnnotonfire on YouTube and Phil is most known as AmazingPhil.  They have been uploading videos for years now and have gained many subscribers, including myself.  I have been watching their videos for probably 3 years or so now and I still can't believe they got the chance to put on a live show for their fans.

As we were walking through the main city centre we could see everyone with their cat whiskers on; it felt like a massive community reunion!

When we got to the venue we put our cat whiskers on, got the festival wristbands we wanted and headed to our seats.

Our seats were amazing, we were in the first circle so we weren't on the floor but we weren't too high up and we were the front row of the circle so our views was just brilliant! (thanks Izzy)

sorry about the annoying bright light

I can't give anything away about the show because Dan and Phil want it to be a surprise for everyone going.  But let me just say, I did not want to get out of my seat when it ended, it was one of the best live show I have watched.  And I have to say I am so glad the content was kept a secret!

Afterwards, I was debating on whether to get a signed book of their's but I decided to treat myself.  I'm so glad I did because I hadn't actually got the book before hand and I was going to ask for it for Christmas and I couldn't resist a signed copy!

The whole afternoon was just amazing. I got home and I just want to relive it all over again!  The parts of the book I have already read have made me laugh and want to read more.  The way they have written it and the content is so creative.

So I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and if you have a half term holiday hope you have a good one :)

Review #4 || Coco White Oil Pulling

So for 14 days at the end of August to the start of September I did oil pulling, by Coco White, to get a healthier mouth and teeth as well as whitening my teeth.  So does it work?

Coco White are a 100% natural health product company based in the UK, who sell modernised version of oil pulling.  Basically they sell coconut oil, but since the flavour of it is rather vile they added natural flavourings such as vanilla, mint and lemon.

Oil Pulling
Oil pulling has been used over years as an Indian Folk remedy.  It involves swirling coconut oil around you mouth for 10-15 minutes.  The main benefit of oil pulling is the health benefits of your mouth and teeth as it reduces the amount of harmful bacteria in your mouth.  Alongside this, it also makes your teeth whiter.  If you want to learn more head to Coco White's website here

First Thoughts
OMG! WHAT IS THIS? I didn't warm the sachet of the coconut oil up with my hands before I realised that's what you were supposed to do!  So I was putting it into my mouth with solid lumps of coconut oil, it was vile and actually made me gag.  But I managed to save it and get it into the liquid it should be.  After that I got used to it and didn't mind it I didn't mind it, it made my mouth feel healthier.  You definitely need to make sure you get it into a liquid before you put it into your mouth though!

Using it

easy step by step instructions on the back of the box :)

It did take a while to get use to the texture but once I did it wasn't too bad.  You had to warm the sachet of coconut oil up before you open it and put it in your mouth.  It says that you should do it everyday for 14 days for 5-15 minutes.  I started with 5 minutes because I wasn't used to it but after that I mainly did 15 minutes, which seems like a long time but I did it whilst listening to music or watching a TV show.  It's not hard to use at all it is just a completely new and weird texture.

Price
Initially, I thought £19.99 for 14 sachets was quite expensive at first but when I did more research in whitening your teeth it really isn't too bad.  But I haven't bought another pack yet because I just don't have a spare 20 quid knocking about.  But I definitely will be buying some more another time.  There is also the option of subscribing to it which gives you 14 days worth of oil pulling sachets for £17.99 per month, so it works out slightly cheaper than buying 14 days worth every time.

Choice
You can also choose from three different flavours, I chose minty fresh as it was a safe bet, but when I was buying it the best seller was the assorted flavours including all three; lemon, vanilla and mint.  I would say the minty fresh one isn't major minty but it makes the process that bit more pleasant.

Does it work?
To an extent it does.  I wouldn't say my teeth now are sparkling white but my teeth did get slightly whiter but I would say it probably works better if you use it longer than 2 weeks. My mouth and teeth felt healthier within the time I did the oil pulling and for some period afterwards.

Before

After

Recommendation
I would give it a recommendation, but don't expect your teeth to be pearly white after just the two weeks.  It did make me feel better about my teeth (a weird thing to say haha) and made my mouth feel fresher and cleaner than just brushing your teeth.

Hoped you liked another review, a slightly different one to normal but I hope it was useful.   Let me know whether you've done oil pulling and whether it was with Coco White and if you enjoyed it.

I am starting to finish the process of applying to universities now, which is one the scariest things ever, so I will be posting a lot more soon!  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Top 5 || Things About Autumn

If you know me, then you will know that autumn and winter are my favourite times of the year.  Yeah, everyone  seems to love summer but I hate being over heated, especially sitting in a stuffy classroom trying to learn and in a hall trying to complete an exam.

I know autumn started a couple of weeks ago but due to sixth form and needing to apply to universities I haven't had much time to blog.  Anyway I will list my top 5 things about autumn and stop rambling now!

1. The weather

Okay, I may be one of the few people who love the autumn weather!  But who doesn't love to cosy up when it is freezing outside with the fire on and a hot drink, or wear layers of clothes to go for a walk?  Most people, I know, don't like the autumn weather because it can be really rainy, foggy and damp but there is something about that I love!  At the start it isn't too hot and it isn't too cold either and you can have clear skies but it still be cool.

2. Fashion

most most colourful part of my wardobe :)

I so much prefer the autumn and winter fashion than the summer and spring.  I tend to always wear darker colours anyway so this time of the year I fit in more haha.  But the knitwear comes out, the coats go on and colours such as black (for me this is pretty much my wardrobe!), oranges, rusty colours, deep purples, dark reds all make an appearance.  I love them all because the colours are so warm yet the weather is just the opposite.

3.  Colours!!

Okay, so the other day I looked outside one of my geography class's windows and saw so much colour it was unbelievable.  Most people just think grey and bare trees when it comes to but the oranges and reds of the leaves on the trees against the greyish sky was just beautiful.  I also love it when the leaves fall on the pavement!

4. Halloween

I'm not going to lie to you, I only recently, in the past 4 years, started to love Halloween.  Mainly because I never really celebrated it other than carving a pumpkin as my parents weren't too kind on it.  But one year I went trick or treating with friends dressed as a zombie school girl and I loved it.  The area was full of fancy dressed people and the atmosphere was brilliant!  Now I love Halloween for the horror side more.  I was never much of a horror fan but I have grown to love it so much!

5.  Bonfire Night

Every year I usually go to my auntie's house to have bonfire night.  Everyone goes for the fireworks, sparklers and the chilli my Bompie makes.  My uncle, when we were younger, use to supervise us when we did "apple bobbing with a twist" as he always added £1 coins in, which is what everyone went for, not the apples!  But I have just found out we aren't doing it this year so I will probably go to an organised event because, damn I love fireworks!

Hope you enjoyed this post, what's your favourite things about autumn because I have probably left something out!?  Now university open days have near enough came to an end, I will be posting a lot more.
